Please find below a request from the Historical Enquiries Team of the Northern Ireland Police Service who have just completed a full review of the incident in which this soldier died.

David Griffiths family have requested that we try to locate any photographs of him during his service since they have only got school pictures.

Would anyone who served with David and has a photograph of him within their collection please contact me at ken.ambrose1@btinternet.com for further instructions

Sir,

I write on behalf of the family of: -

Rifleman 24227550 David Griffiths

Born 03 March 1952

Murdered 30 August 1972 at Clonard St/Odessa St, West Belfast

A full military funeral was held in his home town of Speke, Liverpool.

The Historical Enquiries Team has recently completed a full review of the incident on behalf of the family.

The family has asked that we make enquiry to try to trace any photographs of David Griffiths as they only have school photographs.

Can you assist or suggest any avenues of exploration we could pursue in order to obtain a photograph for the family?

Regards

Mike Wilkins
